What you will see and experience:

In scope of the walk you will learn that Prague has always been related to the Jewish community. Based on the historical records the first information on Jewish inhabitants in Prague come from 1200 AD however it is rather likely that Jews have always lived in Prague. Praha has exceptional position in Jewish history concerning historical progress and also the range of architecture and landmarks. Despite all the fires, pogroms, wars and finally the arial expulsion from the land the Jews managed to build their own quarter in Prague, which they called Josefov in gratitude for the imperial patents at the end of 18th century. We will show you around through this quarter and show everything to you.

Where the route goes:

 

The route begins in the picturesque Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square). We will continue towards the former Jewish ghetto where we will visit several synagogues with the world gem Staronová synagoga (Old New Synagogue) in the front line. You will also see the Old Jewish Cemetery with nearly 12.000 tombstones and graves in 8 layers. On our way we will introduce the life of Jews in the course of centuries to you, you will learn about important Jewish persons and scholars with the leading rabbi Löw who according to a legend created Golem - an artificial human being.

We believe that the route will give new experience to you and that you will leave with unrepeatable adventure just like millions of visitors before you.
